New Smart Treatments to Fight Blood Diseases

Exploit a zebrafish’s well-demonstrated mechanism of regeneration, for transposition to humans

Context

Hematopoietic stem cells are capable of regenerating themselves, which presents enormous potential for ensuring regeneration of all blood cells.

Project

The project consists of studying the replication mechanisms of hematopoietic stem cells in laboratory zebrafish and of transposing the protocol in human cells in order to create new treatment solutions for diseases such as anemia and leukemia.
