Simulator Training in Surgical Gynecology

Context

Gynecology frequently entails technical surgeries using modern endoscopy such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. These new minimally invasive surgical techniques require many hours of training to ensure a steady and precise hand. The simulation method is a crucial teaching tool in this field. It results in enriched theoretical understanding, improved technical dexterity, and increased interprofessional communication.

Project

The project entails organizing regular training courses on a simulator for minimally invasive gynecological interventions, with certification at the end of it all. Both junior and senior surgeons are thus placed in surgical situations and can continually hone their skills for the ongoing improvement of patient safety and care quality.

Où en sommes-nous ?

Mai 2019 : Deux simulateurs d’intervention chirurgicale par laparoscopie sont désormais à la disposition des chirurgiens de gynécologie, et en particulier des médecins internes qui doivent réaliser avec succès chaque simulation avant d’aller au bloc opératoire. Le bénéfice de la formation sur ces simulateurs pour améliorer la qualité des soins en chirurgie gynécologique fait l’objet d’une étude de recherche qui dévoilera ses résultats d’ici fin 2021.
