Context
The HUG maternity ward welcomes more than 4,000 births every year. The return home, as joyful as it is emotional, can also raise doubts and concerns for new parents. Today, advice is given during group sessions, but not all families can attend due to language barriers, fatigue, or scheduling issues. In a world where quick and visual access to information is key, a clear video translated into the most common languages ensures these messages reach everyone. This project aims to provide reassuring, consistent, and accessible guidance, designed with parents’ input.
Project
The project will produce an educational video providing key discharge advice for parents: sudden infant death prevention, shaken baby syndrome awareness, when to consult in case of concern, and more. Shown during the hospital stay, the video helps families prepare their questions for the pediatrician or midwife. Once at home, it remains accessible via QR code, the HUG website, or social media, ensuring reliable and consistent information. Translated into more than ten languages, these videos foster inclusion and also support midwives in their home follow-up care.
